Endometriosis Excision Surgeon (MD), Author · Founder and Director, Iris Wings, Sanctuary for Endometriosis Surgery and Wellness; Beverly Hills

Iris Kerin Orbuch

New protocols and grade changes land in My Protocols.

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and pelvic surgery at NYU Downtown Hospital. Founder and Director of Iris Wings in Beverly Hills, past Chair of the AAGL Endometriosis Special Interest Group and a member of the AAGL Foundation board. Co-author, with pelvic floor physical therapist Amy Stein, of Beating Endo: How to Reclaim Your Life from Endometriosis (Harper Wave, 2019). Her stated position is that endometriosis is an inflammatory whole-body condition rather than a menstrual disorder, and that surgery on its own is not enough without pelvic floor, gut and nervous-system work running alongside it. Disclosed interests: she performs and is paid for the excision surgery she advocates, owns a private surgical and wellness practice, takes book royalties, co-founded the endometriosis software company Forela.Health, and holds an AAGL Foundation board seat. Portrait pending.
